Mace, you’re his boyfriend. He’s gonna wanna to do lots of things with you. I’ll warn you if there’s something we already planned
I don’t want to get in the way of sibling stuff, though.
*text* …I know Mason
I’ll try to stay out of sibling things.
I’m not trying to take him away from you.
…It was bound to happen sooner or later. You’re his boyfriend. You guys will be doing all sorts of stuff together…just the two of you
*text* I’m glad you two had a good time :)
I’m sorry I kinda stole him from you, and left you alone at prom.
*text* I know. You did it for you. Whatever the reason, I’m glad you did
I’m crazy about your brother. It was good to see him all dressed up.
*Text* I’m sure Ben had something to do with it too yes
That’s not what I meant, but yes, he talked me into it.
I didn’t just do it for him, you know?
Gavin let out a soft laugh at Mason’s words. “I think he’s just got you wrapped around his finger.” He grinned at him, and pressed a soft kiss to his cheek. “I’m really happy that you’re here.” His heart beat faster in his chest as he looked at Mason. He looked amazing, suit jacket fitting him really well and making Gavin very aware that his boyfriend was gorgeous.
“You look good,” he breathed, a soft smile on his face. “You said something about dancing?”
Mason smirked, tilting his head to the side in thought, “Maybe. Just a little.” He chuckled softly. Having Gavin in his arms like that made it all worth it. He was sure he could handle absolutely anything, just as long as he got to do this, “I got ready in about five minutes,” He laughed, shaking his head, “You on the other hand, look amazing.”
Mason grinned, looking into Gavin’s eyes for a moment, “Right. Dancing. That’s what you’re meant to do at prom, right? Dance with me…?”
Gavin had done as Mason asked and gone to prom with Jillian. His sister looked gorgeous in her dress, her hair done up all nice, and he felt shabby next to her. He was in a tux, hair mostly under control but more than a little messy due to nervous fingers raking through it every few minutes. Gavin had found the perfect mask, a masquerade version of Hawkeye’s mask in a pleasant shade of purple-red, and it was affixed comfortably on his face.
He was moving a little bit to the music, but really he just wished that Mason was there with him. He missed the other boy whenever he wasn’t around and this was no exception. Jillian had been pulled away to dance with someone, and Gavin was left alone near a wall.
As if conjoured by his thoughts, Mason was there with a shy smile and his hand out, asking Gavin to dance and Gavin’s eyes widened. He wasn’t expecting his boyfriend to show up, though he had hoped for it. “Mason?” he asked dumbly, a little in shock. He slipped his hand into the offered one and yanked Mason close, throwing his arms around him in a tight hug. “I didn’t think you’d come…”
Mason wasn’t sure what to expect. He wanted Gavin to be happy to see him, of course. He wouldn’t have been all that surprised if he had been angry with him fr not coming until the very last minute, though. He didn’t really know what he was doing there, in that room with all those people, but it felt right when he got to see Gavin like this.
He quickly wrapped his arms around him when Gavin hugged him, closing his eyes, and sighing happily, “Neither did I.” He would’ve been completely content to stay holding him like that for the rest of the night. Mason hadn’t thought he’d want this so badly. He rested their heads together, speaking softly, “Ben’s really persuasive. He’s got the pretty eyes thing to use against me.”
She said love's a bitch. He said love's a war, and you're coming home with me tonight so baby, what you waitin' for?
